The Orchid Pendant Light is a dynamic and asymmetrical arrangement inspired by Ikebana, the Japanese art of floral composition. It uses multiple hand dyed poly-carbonate flowers. The flowers are artistically arranged upon stainless steel wires arrayed around a central hub. Each and every coloured Orchid flower is a unique melding of colour and shape as our dyeing techniques evolve. Small LED globes sit behind selected flowers illuminating them as they sit poised on their outstretched tendrils.
Mycelium - the fine fungal roots that allow trees to communicate underground is the inspiration behind the central hub. The hub uses copper mesh to pass the 12 volt current to the stainless steel wires that support the globes.
A single stainless steel wire suspends the balanced luminaire allowing it to gently rotate with any air movement.
